When does the season start and end?
Our season begins in mid-April and ends in July. Teams participating Provincials will play into the 2nd week of July.
NOTE: A team evaluations will begin February 17th 2020. B and C team and Female division evaluations (for team formation) will begin March 2020 (Novice-Midget).
Where do games and practices take place?
We are members of the GELC (Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council). Team practices take place in Strathcona County. Games are scheduled at facilities in Strathcona County, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, St. Albert, Spruce Grove/Stony Plain, and (for select teams) Westlock.
What days of the week/times will my child play?
Except in the Mini-Tyke and Tyke divisions, games are not scheduled for 'set' days or times. Our game schedule is set by the GELC at the start of the season. For Mini-Tyke and Tyke, games generally will fall on a week night, in the early evening, at locations closest to 'home'. The schedule for the 2020 season will be set once registration numbers determine how many teams can be formed.
Tryouts are held for these teams!
Sherwood Park Titans have the privilege of hosting an A division for U12 (Peewee), U14 (Bantam) and U16 (Midget) levels in the boys league. All Players in the boundaries of the Sherwood Park Titans lacrosse club and the Beaumont Braves lacrosse club are allowed to apply to tryout for these A teams. The Sherwood Park Titans host the tryouts and hire independent evaluators for this process.
There is a fee for trying out. This 2020 season it is $60. This fee is to help recover some of the floor costs and costs of independent evaluators.
This fee and your registration payment must be paid in full prior to the tryouts.
The deadline for registration and intent to tryout for A teams is February 10th, 2020.
Monday Feb 17, 2020 will be the start of tryouts for the A teams. Please check the website for most up to date information.
Can I use my hockey equipment?
First time players can use several pieces of their hockey equipment. Helmet (with a cage) gloves, chest/shoulder pads, elbow pads. It is recommended to use lacrosse equipment for the higher levels.
A full equipment list is on our webpage.
Can I request to have my child placed on a particular team?
We do not take requests for player placement novice and higher. However, we still receive numerous requests every year for players to be placed on teams with specific players/coaches. We make every effort to form fair, balanced teams based on the number of registrations we receive and the skill level of players involved.
How do I pay the registration fees?
We accept credit card payments on line or EFT payments. We expect to have a walk in registration day for cash payments March 1, 2020.
Fees must be received by March 2, 2020. EFT payments can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
